Costa Rica Rent a Car Terms and Conditions

Driver

• Minimum age of 21 years old.
• The driver must possess both valid passport and driver's license.
• The driver must be the owner of the credit card used for booking the car.

Deposits

Credit card required (American Express, Visa, Master Card), to make the mandatory deposit and to rent a car.

Depending of the vehicle booked, a Credit Card deposit of $750 to $1500 is asked as guarantee, plus the estimated amount of the rent

Payment Methods

Credit card on line (you must send the authorization form signed, a copy of your driver license and a copy of the credit card).Your credit card will not be charged until you pick up the vehicle.

• Money Transfers (contact us for instructions)
• Cash (when you prepay the 50% of your rental)
• Full fill an authorization form to valid your reservation.

We request a credit card to secure your reservation.  Please provide us with payment information within 48 hours after your reservation request has been received, otherwise your reservations will be changed to "stand-by" and rental is based on availability.

Cancellations& Changes

Cancellations or changes to reservation must be received at least 72 hrs prior to your scheduled rental start date or end date otherwise a 1 day rental will be billed to your card. In case of a "no-show" or you decide not to take the car at the time of rental, we charge the equivalent of a 1 day rental to your credit card, plus delivery fees (if applicable).

All car rental rates are based on 24-hr increments.  We offer a 1 hour "grace" period.   If vehicle is returned 4 hrs after scheduled return time, a full daily rate will be charged. 

Mileage

FREE mileage applies to rentals over one day.

Gas

The car must be dropped off with the same amount of gas specified in the contract, otherwise - any fuel shortage shall be charged. You can pre-paid the Gas.

 Pick Up and Drop off fees

We do deliver and pick up the vehicles at your hotel or at the Airport when they are located near our providers offices, no drop off or pick up charges apply.

Drop Off will be charged when the pick up and return locations are different stations. Price will be calculate depending on: distance, availability and season.

General Conditions

• Daily rate applies from 1 to 6 day rental.
• Weekly rate applies to rentals exceeding 7 days.
• The daily rate is the amount paid for each 24 hour period.
• All vehicles are restricted for use within the boundaries of Costa Rica.
