Insurance

There is only one insurance company in Costa Rica and it is a government owned monopoly that requires by law the use of this insurance on every rental vehicle.

At 4x4 Car Rental all our rental rates include coverage for the following events:

* Liability for Third Persons

* Liability for damages caused to the property of Third Persons with a deductible of US $750.00.
Injuries to Third Persons are covered up to 1,000,000.00 colones (1 Million colones) per person. In case of death, coverage is for up to 40,000,000.00 (40 Million colones) per person with a maximum of 100,000,000.00 (100 Million colones) per group of persons. Insurance does not cover you in case of negligence if driving through sand, water, under the influence of alcohol or any drugs, and for violations of any conditions of the rental agreement.

* Collision

* Theft

* Vandalism, Rollover, Accidents in parking places, Accidents out of the public ways, Earthquake, Flood, Others.

Covers damages to the vehicle in case of accident and the client pays the deductible of US $750.00. Insurance does not cover you in case of negligence if driving through sand, water, under the influence of alcohol or any drugs, and for violations of any conditions of the rental agreement.
